Hello, friend.
With experience in complex areas such as mobility and healthcare I have realised that design is not solely digital artefacts, but also the enabling of opportunities for co-creation of actors in ecosystems. In order to understand these, we cannot simply rely on assumptions based on past experiences. Instead, we have to empathise with people, challenge our preconceptions, and break the echo chamber in order to design sustainable services for the people, community and planet.

The Speculative Gaming Probe

Involving the future in conversations about the mobility of tomorrow.
There are problems related to the way we move, and a change is needed. However, the conversation keeps its attention around those already indoctrinated in the outdated culture. Attempts have been made, but new ways of inviting younger crowds to the table is still sought after.

In a Drive Sweden-funded project, I designed and executed the Speculative Gaming Probe - a tool supported by simulation acting as a digital environment for the speculative mind.

Design patterns for digital healthcare

For too long has the technology driven the design of mental healthcare.
Studies show that more young adults are struggling with mental health issues than ever before. In addition, the young often describe the digital triage as too messy, putting too much pressure on the individual in defining conditions and approve consent for usage of private information.

Digital triage apps might be a step in the right direction, but it is still far from the optimal solution due to tracking and involvement of third-party actors due to inadequate synchronisation. AI might assist, but only if it considers the human values.

Adaptive, resilient and seamless mobility

New life values, mobility patterns, and demands from our planet has put pressure on design.
Mobility is not solely moving from A to B. It is an experience often taken for granted in the complex world of our everyday life. A change is needed. In freedom and sustainability, linear and circular, as well owning and sharing, there are tensions increasing the complexity of new forms of mobility.

In addition, we cannot produce transportation modes in the same was as usual. Rather, we have to seek for new inspiration and challenge what we once knew.

Tools for fast-paced healthcare

Meeting the informal needs in an ever-changing, unpredictable working environment.
Collaboration is a must in the hectic environment of healthcare. However, todays technology is not responding to the fundamental building blocks of trust, awareness and communication that is needed.

In this project, we designed a potential solution in form of Sonar, a social platform adapted to the hectic situation. In addition, insights could be made into design proposals that can assist designers in future work.
